Designing Seamless Game Pickups: From Blueprint to Prototype

In a service design blueprint workshop, we mapped the end-to-end “Buy Online, Pick Up Anywhere” journey for gamers. The session quickly moved from workshop to working prototypes that demonstrated the flow and possibilities across store, curbside, and locker pickup.

How might we make it effortless for gamers to buy online and choose their preferred pickup—store, curbside, or locker?

Challenge

Gamers want the convenience of buying online but often face confusing fulfillment choices, long wait times, or mismatched inventory promises. The challenge was aligning digital, store, and backend systems to create a consistent, reliable pickup experience.

Solution

Through the blueprint, we identified key data touchpoints, policies, and service moments—then built quick prototypes to bring the flow to life. The result: a clear path for delivering an easy, flexible pickup experience that meets gamers where they are.
